The European second caste football competition, the 2021/2022 Europa League enters matchday 5 of the Group A to Group H eliminations which will be held on Thursday (11/25/2021). From Group A, the host Broendby IF fell when they hosted the French representative, Olympique Lyon with a score of 1-3. Another game Rangers beat Sparta Prague with a score of 2-0. Turning to Group B, AS Monaco overthrew their guests Real Sociedad with a score of 2-1, while PSV Eindhoven beat Sturm Graz 2-0. In Group C, Leicester City beat Legia Warszawa 3-1 at the King Power Stadium to top Group C and Spartak Moscow beat Napoli 2-0.
From Group D, hosts Eintracht Frankfurt were held to a 2-2 draw by visitors Royal Antwerp and Olympiacos beat Fenerbahce 1-0. While in Group E, Galatasaray beat Marseille with a score of 4-2, and Lokomotiv Moscow were defeated by Lazio 0-3. FC Midtjylland beat SC Braga 3-2 and FK Crvena Zvezda won 1-0 over Ludogorets Razgrad in Group F. From Group G, Bayer Leverkusen took full points by beating Celtic 3-2 and Real Betis who won 2-0 over Ferencvaros. Finally in Group H, hosts Dinamo Zagreb were held to a draw by Genk with a score of 1-1 and representatives of England, West Ham United overthrew hosts Rapid Wien with a score of 0-2.
The knock-out phase of the 2021-2022 Europa League is different from the previous season and has undergone quite significant changes. The leader of each group gets an automatic ticket to the round of 16. While the second place will undergo a play-off match against the third place in the Champions League group. The draw for the knockout play-offs of the Europa League will be held on December 13, 2021, at the UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland. The winners of the eight play-offs will join the eight group winners of the Europa League in the round of 16.
